Our 17 year history

​

Since starting as a local Queen cover-band in Brisbane in 2003, Killer Queen has evolved into an international touring show. Over 800 shows in 10 countries, and every corner of Australia (even Uluru), including Clubs, Casinos, Entertainment Centres, Festivals, Cruise Ships, and Theatres.

2016 John appeared as Freddie Mercury in UK biopic "The Freddie Mercury Story - Who Wants To Live Forever" Docu-Drama

2018 Live performance for 20th Century Fox at Pre-Screening of "Bohemian Rhapsody" @ The Orpheum Picture Palace Sydney.

2018 Live performance in front of 17,000 people with the 40-piece Canberra Symphony Orchestra for Canberra Day (event page).

2020 Special Guest appearance by John Blunt at the 2020 Sydney Mardi Gras on the Mercury Phoenix Trust Float (MPT was founded by Brian May and Roger Taylor to fight HIV/AIDS worldwide).

2020 Queen vs Killer Queen. A lifetime milestone meeting Queen backstage at Suncorp Stadium 13th Feb 2020. The memory we’ll always cherish is watching the show from stage seats sharing the band's perspective over 40,000 fans (see the photos).

International Tours

​

Killer Queen have taken their show to the UK, Norway, Singapore, and India and shared the bill with the likes of Jeff Beck, Foreigner, Journey, Twisted Sister, Thin Lizzy and Kelly Rowland. Our Rhapsody Tour 2019 alone was seen by more than 50,000 people across the USA, Russia, and Australia.

Queen is in our blood

​

This was never just a job for us. We take the word "tribute" very seriously, down to every detail, including our instruments, the costumes, and the energy we bring to the stage. And our obsession goes beyond the show - John named his daughter Reyna Taylor May (meaning Queen in Spanish), Wayne called his son Deacon, and Andrew was a stagehand for Queen + Adam Lambert before joining us in 2014. We are part of Queen’s legacy, and they are part of us.
